My disabled uncles mobile phone was lost/stolen in Matlock yesterday. He and a few other family members went for a day out in Matlock, they stopped at one of the arcade places with a cafe for breakfast. My other relatives helped my uncle from his powered wheelchair to a normal chair at a table and he took his hoodie and hat and his phone off (he wears it around his neck so it is easy to access). He put his hoodie in the bag on the back of his wheelchair and without thinking about what he was doing put his phone and hat on the seat of the wheelchair that one of our other relatives pushed against the wall and then came back to the table. A few minutes later he realised he didn’t have his phone so they went to check his wheelchair including the bag and nothing, both his phone and hat were gone. They searched all around the cafe and no sign of it, asked staff members if someone had handed it in and nothing.
We have tried phoning it several times and the phone is still switched on as it just keeps ringing, it doesn’t go straight to voicemail or anything like it would do if it was switched off. This seems strange to me as surely a thief would immediately switch it off to try and stop the phone being located. But like I say nobody answers when calling his number.
So hoping someone might be able to help, either if you maybe were in Matlock yesterday and found a phone or know someone who did. Or maybe you can give us an idea of how to try and locate it. Any advice or help is welcome.
The phone in question is a Cubot P80, so not anything of significant value. And it is/was in a navy blue case that zips around it with a lanyard strap attached to it.
Thanks again.
